Turkish Airlines and Boeing share a long history that goes back to 1945, with the arrival of the airline’s first DC-3/C-47 airliners and they signed a collaboration agreement in early 2016.

Defense and Aviation Cluster Secretary General  said bilateral talks will be held between the Boeing Company and possible suppliers, stressing that the efforts of Turkish firms to become a supplier to Boeing will also mean that the sector’s ecosystem will improve for projects such as national commercial airplane and helicopter. Suggesting that domestic firms’ efforts to manufacture the aircraft pieces imported by Turkish Airlines (THY) Technic for the aircraft maintenance are among the basic sources of motivation in this sector.
