Turkey’s BMC awarded the contract to provide 529 tactical wheeled vehicles

Turkish contractor BMC has been awarded the contract for the purchase of 529 tactical wheeled vehicles (TWV)  the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM) announced.

The written statement released by the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries reads that the purchase of 529 tactical wheeled vehicles has been planned by the SSM in order to increase the operational capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces in areas where terrorist attacks have been carried out and that it has been decided to proceed with the domestic development project model in this project.

According to the statement, activities carried out under the framework of the evaluation of the proposal submitted to the SSM have been completed and an agreement has been reached on cooperation with BMC Otomotiv as the main contractor for the project.

Following the completed negotiations, the TTA-2 Project Agreement was signed with a ceremony held at the SSM on Aug. 8. SSM stated that new KIRPI (Hedgehog) Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles will be supplied under the contract.
