The CEOs of 17 global corporation operating in Turkey including Vodafone, Unilever, Ford Global, BNP Paribas,Sberbank, General Electric (GE) Global, Toyota, Hyundai and Ford have taken part and conveyed the unified message: “Come to Turkey. Discover your own story” in a promotional film for the new “Discover your Turkey Story” campaign.
The project, executed by the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TİM) under the leadership of Turkey’s Ministry of the Economy, will be shown in the U.K., France, Germany, Russia, Italy, the U.S. and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Indicating that the TİM aims to reach 500 million people across seven countries in a “Turkey Image Campaign” slated over the course of one year, TİM Chairman Mehmet Büyükekşi said that TIM also has plans to provide 2.7 access points at the end of the campaign.
Speaking at the meeting, Economy Minister Zeybekci said the films will be shown in seven countries worldwide, noting: “Firstly, it will be shown on television before being circulated in newspapers, magazines, social and digital media and finally on city streets. After that, our other campaigns will start. We will call on the world and key actors from around the world to Turkey,” he added.
Zeybekci also said they were compelled to do something alongside organizations such as the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB), TİM, the Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association (TÜSİAD), Independent Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association (MÜSİAD) and the Turkish Contractors Association in order to tell the world about Turkey and the Turkish economy after the July 15 failed coup attempt. Furthermore, he indicated that meetings were held with the CEOs of international firms that considered the campaign favorable and agreed to take a role in the promotion.
Vodafone Turkey CEO Colman Deegan used the phrase “Vodafone is very happy to be in Turkey” in the commercial filmed in the scope of the campaign, while BNP Paribas Vice Chairman Jean Paul Sabet said, “We are very pleased with the investment we made in Turkey.”Likewise, Sanofi Turkey Country President Fabrizio Guidi said: “We are working with many talents who are willing to carry Turkey into the future.” Representing Turkey’s pharmaceutical sector, Novartis Turkey President Peter Catalino said they have been investing in Turkey since 1950 and that Novartis trusts Turkey and the Turkish people.
Furthermore, Toyota Turkey General Manager and CEO Hiroshi Kato pointed out that the Turkish people are very warm and hospitable.
Hyundai Assan Chairman Mong Hyun Yoon said Turkey has a high potential and is a unified and harmonious country, while Unilever Turkey, Central Asia and Iran Chairman Harm Goossens said, “Turkey is very important for Unilever. We have been here for over 100 years. We will definitely be here for another 100 years.”
